POSITION: Video Engineer

DESCRIPTION: Blue Man Productions, the parent company of the theatrical production Blue Man Group, is looking for talented Video Engineers for current and future touring and freelance opportunities. The ideal candidates will have experience in a touring environment and will be able to balance a working knowledge of the technical aspects of video production with an eye for video design and the capacity to learn and maintain the Blue Man video aesthetic. The position requires an understanding of systems, operations, encoding and compression of video formats and codecs as they relate to a successful live playback of video.

Responsibilities include:

•Building and maintaining all video screens

•Setting up and maintaining the main video system rack

•Working with Hippotizer software

•Troubleshooting units and wiring

•Manually operating a SONY BRC-Z700 Robo camera and taking cues during the show for specific segments

•Working with Production and designers when changes need to be made to camera shots or specific camera settings

Some knowledge of editing and VFX software and execution and the cuing and programming of media servers and playback devices a must.
