SEEKING: Performers for 2012 Summer Season. Actively seeking multi racial/cultural casts, all ages. Cross-gender casting considered in some roles in both productions. Some actors will play multiple roles. Shows run in Inwood Hill Park, in northern New York City.

Rosalind:The daughter of Duke Senior. Banished from the court disguises her self as a man (Ganymede) to survive unmolested in the forest of Arden. In love with Orlando. Highly intelligent and charismatic.
Orlando:Youngest son of Sir Rowland de Bois, younger brother of Oliver. Athletic. Ardent lover of Rosalind
Duke Senior:The father of Rosalind and the rightful ruler of the dukedom. Kind, philosophical optimist.
Jaques:A favored lord attending Duke Senior. Deep, ironic humor and insight.
Celia:Daughter of Duke Frederick. Rosalind’s dearest friend. Loyal, gamey, vibrant and positive.
Duke Frederick:Duke Senior’s brother. Usurper of his throne. Insecure of power. Magnanimous, irrational, violent.
Le Beau:Courtier attending Duke Frederick. Flustered & sympathetic.
Touchstone:Clown in Duke Frederick’s court. Accompanies Rosalind and Celia in their flight to the forest of Arden. A bright comical opportunist.
Oliver:Oldest son and inheritor of Sir Rowland de Boise estate. Envious and cruel towards Orlando. Transforms into a better man.
Silvius:Young suffering shepherd in fervent love with disdainful Phoebe.
Phoebe:Young shepherdess. Disdains Silvius. In love with Ganymede (Rosalind)
Lord Amiens:Attendant to Duke Senior. Loves to sing.
Charles:A professional wrestler in Duke Frederick’s court.
Adam:The elderly servant of Orlando. Funds Orlando's exile and follows him into Arden.
Corin:A mature shepherd. Friend of Silvius. Hired by Rosalind to tend her newly purchased cottage and flock.
Audry:Simple country girl. Agrees to marry Touchstone.
William:Simple country boy. In love with Audrey.
Sir Oliver Martext:A country vicar.
Hymen:Represents the Greek god of marriage.
Jaques De Boise:Younger brother of Oliver & Orlando. An affable messenger.

Rabbi Lowe:40s-70s. Great depth o knowledge, courage in action kindness in intent. Strong, resourceful direct. A spiritual magician. Diplomat between the Christian & Jewish world. Creator of the golem.
Jacob Ben Khaim-Sassoon:20s & up. Lowe’s assistant & foremost student. Bright, physical and comedic with a romantic nature.
Issac Ben Sampson:20s Lowe’s trusted son-in-law. Serious, loyal. Also assists in creating the golem. Lowe's confidant.
The Golem (Joseph):Any age or gender. Created as a soulless super-being of clay to serve & protect the Jewish community. As he begins to question and challenge he becomes independent & dangerous. Must project powerful physical stamina and poetic force.
Thaddeus:30s – 60s. Mercurial and sinister minister of the court. Intent on destroying the Jewish community.
Tilka:18 up. Thaddeus daughter. Outwardly beautiful and pious, but harbors hatred of Jews. In love with the golem.
Rachel:30s up. Rabbi Lowes' wife. His earthy humorous anchor to domestic reality. Unquestioned loyalty partnership and love.
Kaiser Rudolph II:30s up. Sympathetic with the Jewish quarter. Manipulated by Thaddeus. Great interest in science andmysticism. Favors Rabbi Lowe for his wisdom & magical abilities. Wry humor. Manifests great authority when pressed.
Lady Margaret:20s up. Beautiful, intelligent. Christian mystic, channels spirits. Secret lover of Manzio.
Manzio The Moor:20s up. Muslim. Insouciant, passionate, humorous, trader/pirate. Freed by English from Spanish galley. Great swordsman/stage-fighter. Secret lover of Lady Margaret.
Isildent & Brier:Any age. Unscrupulous, gravediggers. Body snatchers for Thaddeus. Have a dog, Duclesoup.
Chorus:Any age. Charismatic commentators and narrators. Good vocal versatility. Great movement skills. Singing not required but a plus. Will also play multiple characters.
Soldiers:Good stage-fighting skills.
