SEEKING: Writing internships for qualified students.
NOTE: Current students only.
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for students with a journalism background who has been previously published (for example, in a school publication) with a strong interest in and knowledge of theatre and entertainment reporting. Duties will include writing blog items for Playblog, Playbill.com's new theatre/Broadway blog; composing press-release-initiated items; and transcribing interviews. Interns showing exceptional skills will be invited to cover press events, which involve interviewing theatre celebrities and creatives, and to write more complex feature articles under the supervision of our editor.
COMPENSATION: Hours are flexible, though we are looking for students who are responsible and dedicated to the internship, and who can work on deadline. There is no pay, but we would be happy to assist interns in securing academic credit for the internships. We are asking for a commitment of a minimum of 10 hours/week.
START DATE: Internships begin in May.
