Performers – Sonnet Repertory Theatre
WHO: Sonnet Repertory
Theatre
SEEKING: Ethnically diverse actors, ages 18-25, with a sense of comedy who are
strong singers and movers. Ability to carry solo songs and blend in with
ensemble harmonies is very important. Playing musical instruments, knowledge of
yoga and gymnastic skills are a plus. Must enjoy working with young children.
THE OHMIES is a series of interactive stage musicals for children ages
3 to 5. Shows feature an original pop/rock score, highly imaginative characters
and stories, movements based on yoga and a health and wellness curriculum. www.theohmies.com
Bella Butterfly is a 7-year-old social butterfly. She's girly,
graceful, and charming. She's curious about everything, loves to go on
adventures, and help others. Warm, big belt, mezzo/soprano (G3-B5).
Carlin Caterpillar is a rough and tumble 4-year-old. He often gets
into trouble by jumping into action before thinking things through. He wants to
be a superhero when he grows up. Baritone/tenor (G2-A4)
Gisbert Grasshopper is a nerdy 10-year-old with a penchant for
science. His favorite subject is nutrition. Baritone/tenor (C3-A4)
Daisy Dog is a confident and glamorous 8-year-old canine. She's like
the cool older cousin you've always wanted. She digs fashion and performance
art, and is an infectious dancer. Alto/mezzo (D4-C5)
Sylvio Snake is a self-assured 8-year-old. He's the kid most likely to
grow up and be the lead singer in a band. He treats every day as a celebration
and always shares his feelings. Bass (E2-A3)
Ti-do Bird is a 10-year-old night owl who fancies himself a
"beak-nik" musician and DJ. Plays percussion, guitar, knowledge of
Ableton Live, beatbox, or other unique skills a plus. Baritone/tenor. Actor
will also be vocal captain.
WHEN: Auditions September 20, 21. First Rehearsal: December
6, 2010. First performance:
January 5, 2011
PAY: Rehearsal $500 per week; Performance, minimum of $300 for up to 6
performances per week. (Show runs approximately one hour)
