Music Administrator- New York City Ballet
WHO: New York City Ballet
SEEKING: Music Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Coordinate contract administration, logistics, and liaison with all guest musicians, singers, conductors and their agents.
•Produce the seasonal orchestra rehearsal schedule; coordinate with rehearsal department and stage management, take into account Music Director’s artistic priorities, orchestra contract guidelines and budget constraints.
•Function as the point person for all program changes and their impact on the orchestra. Liaison with Music Staff, Orchestra Manager, and administration on same.
•Coordinate and facilitate all musical needs for new productions; liaison with commissioned composers, orchestrators and arrangers; work closely with Music Director and choreographer on any musical issues as the new ballet is produced.
•Review and coordinate all aspects of orchestral performances while on tour.
•Monitor Rehearsal Department’s scheduling to assure it accurately reflects musicians’ scheduled participation.
REQUIREMENTS: Three to five years relevant experience in a performing arts organization is required.
