Design and Production Staff Immediate Openings – Gretna Theatre

SEEKING:
RESIDENT TECHNICAL DIRECTOR May 1 – August 7 Primary focus: build, paint, install scenic elements; oversee all technical aspects of summer theatre productions. Scenic Design opportunities for the right candidate. Housing and r/t transportation provided, competitive pay.
RESIDENT SCENIC DESIGNER – May 1 – August 7. Design & co-design scenery for six shows/events, assist with build, paint and load in. Housing and r/t transportation provided, competitive pay.
RESIDENT COSTUME DESIGNER – Hands-on for "Sisters of Swing," "A Little Night Music" and "The Unexpected Guest." In residence June 13 – July 15. Most costumes rented, some pulled; must be able to work quickly with the directors and be the lead on alterations. Housing and r/t transportation provided, competitive weekly pay. It may be possible to job in for less than all three shows.
Also seeking theatre TECHNICIANS WHO HAVE ACCESS TO LOCAL HOUSING for paid positions as:
SCENIC CARPENTERS/PAINTERS (4) Early-May through August 7
SOUND DESIGNER AND OPERATOR (1) Mid-May through July 31
Also seeking LOCAL Technical Interns for paid positions mid-May through August 7:
STAGE CREW / FOLLOWSPOT OPERATORS, followspot experience less important than a steady hand and ability to learn
WARDROBE / COSTUME DESIGN INTERN with ability to sew
HOUSE MANAGEMENT / COMPANY MANAGEMENT to work with volunteer ushers, assist company manager with cast scheduling and transport
PROPS ASSISTANT with craft skills to assist Props Designer
SOUND ASSISTANT with knowledge of board operation and sound equipment to assist Designer and run some shows
BOX OFFICE STAFF with great attitude to assist our patrons and work directly with Box Office Manager.

Gretna, PA (12 miles southeast of Hershey), bringing major Broadway talent to work with our New York and national casts, directors and choreographers. We aim to create great theatre…with no drama! The 2011 season includes: Shirley Jones in "An Evening of Stories and Songs," Dan Goggin directs his premiere cast in "Nunset Boulevard, The Nunsense Hollywood Bowl Show," Broadway's Erin Stewart, Peter Simon Hilton and Andrew Boyer in "My Fair Lady," "Sisters of Swing: The Story of the Andrews Sisters," Broadway's Brad Little and Barbara McCulloh in "A Little Night Music," Agatha Christie's "The Unexpected Guest," and Broadway's Farah Alvin, Carolann Page and Rusty Reynolds in "Funny Girl."
