POSITION TITLE: Director of Development

DESCRIPTION: The Laguna Playhouse offers a new Director of Development the compelling opportunity to join a vibrant theater in the beautiful arts community of Laguna Beach, California. Leadership will forge a strong partnership with this senior position to continue a trajectory of growth in the Playhouse’s fund development programs. Successful candidates will have notable experience in a senior fundraising position. Responsible for articulating, planning, implementing and overseeing the execution of the strategic direction for the department, the Director of Development plays a critical role in creating prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies. The Director of Development is expected to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from key prospects. The Laguna Playhouse will consider applicants with college degrees who have a clear track record of success in cultivating and soliciting major support from foundations, corporations and individual philanthropists. The successful candidate must have at least five years of experience in progressively responsible fund raising positions, including direct responsibility for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts of $25,000 or more, and have a relevant business network.
