The Sunday Giveaway: Two tickets to On The Town on Broadway!
Three sailors walk into a bar . . .
What sounds like the beginning of a dirty-birdy joke that your grandpa would tell, is pretty close to the plot of the classic musical On The Town!
And in case you haven’t heard, this Leonard Bernstein tuner is comin’ back to town this Saturday, September 20th for its third Broadway revival (Fourth if you count my college production at the Tisch School of the Arts in 1993 . . . which was performed in a theater at 721 Broadway. Eh?).
And in case you haven’t figured it out, we’ve got two tickets to give away! That’s right, kiddos, pack away the swimsuits, because it’s September and Broadway is back!
So how do you win the tickets? How do you go On The Town?
Well, honestly, I should have done last week’s giveaway this week . . . when I made you all name New York institutions for the Blue Man Group tickets. But I didn’t. Plus that would have been too easy for these $300+ tickets.
So . . . we all know that On The Town is about New York. As the lyric goes . . .
New York, New York
A helluva town.
The Bronx is up
But the Battery’s down.
But what if it wasn’t about New York? What if it was about Paris? Tokyo? East Wichita?
That’s right, I want you to channel your inner Comden and Green and rewrite these classic lyrics about the town of your choice.
A New England town.
The tourists come runnin’
When the leaves turn brown.
Ok, that’s bad. And you can do better. So do it . . . and win!
