Blue Man Group Seeking Fall Marketing Intern

Blue Man Productions, best known for our theatrical production Blue Man Group, seeks a motivated, dedicated Marketing Intern.  This is a great opportunity to be exposed to sales, marketing, and press for an exciting and unique theatrical production and entertainment company!

The Marketing Intern will have exposure to database marketing, project management, and team work by working with our six city productions.  Some of the learning opportunities we will provide include the following:

  • Work with all levels of marketing team on execution of national and local press, marketing, & promotional initiatives
  • Work closely with the NY and Las Vegas teams to prepare for the opening of our brand new show at the Monte Carlo in Vegas
  • Conduct research on potential partnerships and new trade opportunities for our production at the Astor Place Theatre, working in conjunction with local marketing manager
  • Participate in strategic & tactical planning & execution of nationwide sales programs
  • Work with Marketing Coordinator to assist with administrative needs for meetings and presentations as needed.
  • Assist with archival of press, social media and misc. marketing materials
  • Other duties as assigned

The intern is expected to work approximately 20 hours per week from Sept-Dec. We would like someone with an interest and/or experience in Arts & Entertainment Marketing.  Basic Microsoft Office knowledge is required for this role (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel). An ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and collaborate with others easily.

We offer a stipend and monthly Metro Card, and this internship is available for college credit.

Assistant to the Executive Producer

Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC), a Tony Award-winning nonprofit theatre seeks a bright, articulate individual with excellent organizational and time-management skills to assist the Executive Producer on all administrative matters. For over forty years, MTC has been the creative and artistic home for America’s most gifted theatrical artists, producing works of the highest quality by contemporary American and international playwrights. MTC produces eight plays annually in Broadway’s Samuel J Friedman Theatre on West 47th Street and off-Broadway at the historic NY City Center complex on West 55th Street.

The Assistant to the Executive Producer serves as a liaison between the Executive Producer, senior staff, Board of Directors, donors, industry contacts and community. Responsibilities include managing correspondence, telephone calls, scheduling, meeting coordination, event assistance and various special projects. Excellent writing and communication skills and an absolute attention to detail are a must. Prior office experience required. A working knowledge of the New York theatre community, non-profit structures and fundraising a plus.

Must also possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task, quickly learn and have strong recall in a fast-paced work environment. Must be professional and comfortable when engaging with vendors and clients.

Duties will include:

Maintain and create content for Broadway Fantasy Camp social media accounts, with focus on Facebook and Twitter
Edit, resize, and archive photos using iPhoto, or Preview, or other basic program
Keep content of databases current
Maintain lists and contacts
Create flyers and gift certificates
Write/edit promotional material
Conduct general research and create/update spreadsheets
Support other staff in various projects
Daily office and administrative duties
Basic iMovie editing
Maintain Google AdWords campaign
Analyze and create Google AdWords and Google Analytics statistics and reports
Cold call various organizations

Commercial theatre producing organization seeks full-time Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to both its Executive Producer and President.

Duties include:
• Acting as gatekeeper and first point of contact
• Managing calendar
• Facilitating communication and handling correspondence for both Executive Producer and President
• Creating and processing expense and financial reports, including wrap spreadsheets
• Researching potential projects and preparing detailed research reports and spreadsheets
• Organizing and maintaining company files and contacts
• Acting as office manager (e.g. ordering supplies, arranging catering for meetings, etc.)

Position Requirements:
• At least three years experience working administratively in a fast-paced commercial theatre environment
