First Time on the Blog? Start here.

Welcome to TheProducersPerspective!

For eight years I’ve been blogging daily about all things Broadway and beyond, and I’m thrilled you stumbled-upon my site.  Whether you’re here because you are interested in becoming a Broadway Producer or Broadway Investor, or maybe you’re a writer who wants help in getting your show off the ground, or an actor looking for audition tips, or simply a Broadway fan looking for more insight on how the Broadway biz works . . . there’s something on this site for you.

But where do you start?

Good question . . . here’s what I suggest.

1.  “Pop-u-lar!”

To borrow a line from Glinda, I’d check out my most pop-u-lar posts.  They’re located on the right side of the blog.  These are what has resonated with readers most over the last eight years.  And you’ll get a sense of what I talk about.

2.  Join the club.

My blog gets emailed out every night at 8 PM ET (curtain time!) but only if you sign up.  Signing up is by far the best way to keep up with the blog, and from time to time I offer exclusive content just to the people on that list.  And you don’t want to miss out on that stuff, so join up today.  If you’re an iPhone user, you can also get my App here to keep up with the most current post (Android version coming!), but joining the email club is by far the best way to get the goodies.  (Oh and if you sign up today you’ll get a free gift!)

3.  When are new blogs published?

A new brand new blog goes up every Thursday at 11 AM, and then get emailed out at 8 PM as I mentioned above.  Sometimes where there is something I just can’t keep quiet about, I’ll post at other times throughout the week.  But count on a new blog on this site or in your inbox every Thursday.

In addition, every Monday I release a new episode of TheProducersPerspectivePodcast, featuring an interview with a Broadway Pro, and I post the previous week’s grosses from all the Broadway shows.

I’ve got some regular content that is posted throughout the year as well, including my Tony Pool (I usually give away some thing pretty valuable like an iPad or $500 worth of theater tickets), The Broadway Producer of the Year contest where you vote for the winner, Writer Director Speed-dates and more.  Some of this stuff isn’t posted, so again, best way to guarantee you get all the good stuff is by subscribing.

If you want like my posts and want MORE content from me?  Join TheProducersPerspectivePRO which includes an exclusive monthly newsletter mailed to your home with multiple exclusive articles written by me, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I can’t say on the blog.  Get a sample newsletter and learn more about PRO here.

4. That Podcast

The Podcast is one of my most favorite things I’ve done since I started the blog.  I’ve been lucky enough to interview some of the greats in the biz from Tim Rice to James Lapine to Susan Stroman and even Ben Brantley!  I’ve learned so much from talking to these folks (or frankly, from listening to these folks) and I know you will too.  Click here to see a complete list and listen on iTunes.  Or click here.

5.  What can I do for you?

So many of the things on this blog from the podcast to my Producing 101 Course to my Be A Broadway Star Board Game to my special Pro members area is because of feedback from people like you (you’ll see as you read more of my stuff that I’m a big believer that we need to listen more to our audience).  So if you’ve got an idea, or if you have a problem and are looking for a solution, email me here.  If we don’t have something that will help you, we’ll try to come up with something in the future that will.

Thanks again for reading and for your support of the live theater!

Ken

P.S.  Remember, the best way to keep up with what we’re doing is to sign up here.
