Ken is a Tony Award-winning Broadway and Off Broadway Producer.
He began his career on Broadway as a production assistant on the revival of My Fair Lady starring Richard Chamberlain while a student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Although he was an acting major, he quickly left the audition lines and began a career on the business side of Broadway, and for ten years was a company manager and general manager for many Broadway productions and National Tours including Show Boat, Candide, Ragtime, Jekyll & Hyde, Chicago, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Gypsy and more.
In 2004, he formed Davenport Theatrical Enterprises and began producing his own shows. His “first born” was The Awesome 80s Prom, which ran for 10 years, followed quickly by the Outer Critics Circle Award-Winning Best Musical Altar Boyz, and My First Time, which has been seen in over 20 countries worldwide. He was the first producer to have three shows running simultaneously Off Broadway. All three shows recouped their investment.
He returned to Broadway soon after and since then has produced Once On This Island, Groundhog Day, The Play That Goes Wrong, Deaf West’s Spring Awakening, 13, Speed The Plow, Will Ferrell’s You’re Welcome America, Blithe Spirit, Oleanna, Chinglish, Godspell, Kinky Boots, Macbeth, The Bridges of Madison County, Mothers and Sons, It’s Only A Play and The Visit, as well as Daddy Long Legs and That Bachelorette Show Off Broadway. Ken is also the Executive Producer for North America for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group.
Additional producing projects include These Magnificent Miles, a documentary on one of the top unsigned rock bands in the country, The Bunny Hole, an award-winning TV pilot, and Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage.
Future projects include the upcoming Gettin’ The Band Back Together, Do This, and Mass Appeal.
In addition to producing his own projects, Ken has been an Executive Producer and Consultant on many other Broadway and Off Broadway projects. If you are interested in inquiring about his services, please click here.

“I’VE BEEN REALLY IMPRESSED BY THE WAY KEN DAVENPORT HAD THIS GREAT,THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX WAY TO SELL THE SHOW. THEY’VE BEEN ABLE TO ATTRACT A MUCH YOUNGER AUDIENCE THAN ANY BROADWAY SHOW I’VE BEEN IN.”
