What’s your average?

Someone congratulated me the other day on the recoupment of my three shows.  “You’re 3 for 3!  You’re batting 1000, Ken!  Congrats!”

Obviously, my three shows make me very happy . . . but batting 1000 doesn’t.  That’s not what it’s about.

In fact, I’d rather by batting  .750 . . . if that meant I was 15 for 20.

The “P” in producing doesn’t stand for perfect.

Don’t hold yourself back from starting to produce for fear of not being perfect.  Because at the end of the day, it’s not about 1 show or 3 shows.  It’s about your body of work.

Want some proof?  Look at this guy’s resume.  There a whole bunch of flops in there (including one that lasted for two days).

But how can you find them among the 42 Tony Awards and 134 nominations?

Do you think Manny cared about being perfect?

I’ve gotta go now.  I have to see what I can do about reducing my average, because I think the “P” in producing stands for productive.
