Some things are the same, not matter what coast you are on.

PhotoThey’ve got movies and we’ve got theater.

They’ve got two seasons and we’ve got four.

They’ve got Panda Express and In ‘N Out Burger and . . . well, we don’t.

There are a lot of things that make the left and right coasts very different.

But there are some things that make it seem like we’re in the same time zone.  Like selling.

Meet MJ.  I did . . . on Hollywood Boulevard trying to sell what is in his soul (his music) to anyone that would stop and listen.

At first, I couldn’t believe how much he reminded me of Duane from this previous post of mine.

But then I remembered something . . . the science of selling is the same, no matter how many seasons you have.

That reminds me of the Neil Simon quote: “When it’s 100 degrees in New York, it’s 72 in L.A. When it’s 20 in New York, it’s 72 in L.A. And there are eight million interesting people in New York – 72 in L.A.”

So you were out on the left coast were you? Interesting… and I actually have an advantage out here if you can believe it for producing theater… cause I more of the only game in town, certainly less competition…
    Nice interview…
