Design Staff – Gallery Players

WHO: The Gallery Players, Brooklyn's premier off-off Broadway Theater in its 43rd season.

WHEN: Rehearsals begin March 27, 2010 for 5 weeks (evenings and weekends). Run: May 1 – 23, 2010. 16 perfs Thursday thru Sunday. Small stipend pay.

SEEKING: The following staff positions for upcoming AEA showcase
(approval pending) production of City of Angels, book by Larry Gelbart,
lyrics by David Zippel and music by Cy Coleman. Producer: Becca

REQUIREMENTS: The right individuals will possess a theater background, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and will be creative thinkers with excellent people skills. Most work will take place evenings and weekends.

Production Stage Manager (AEA or Non-AEA): qualified well-organized individual with a professional attitude to run rehearsals and performances evenings and weekends 3/27/10 – 5/23/10. Ability to prioritize, work well with a diverse group and rehearse/perform under AEA showcase code rules a must. Will oversee tracking of props, and prepare and distribute rehearsal and performance reports.

Costume Designer: a qualified well-organized individual who can research, design and execute the costume design within the timeline and stay within the budget. Gallery has a small stock of costumes however the designer should plan on a combination of shopping, building, borrowing and renting. Must be able to attend dress rehearsals 4/27/10 – 4/30/09, strike on 5/23/10, as well as regular production meetings.

Lighting Designer: must be able to design lighting and hang the plot for the show. Gallery has a stock of lighting instruments. Must be available 4/23/10 – 4/30/09 for tech as well as for regular production meetings.

Sound Designer: must be able to design and create sound cues on your own equipment. Designer does not need to run sound during performances. Must be available 4/23/10 – 4/30/09 for tech as well as for regular production meetings.
