Production Stage Management Intern – The Pearl Theatre Company
WHO: The Pearl Theatre Company, a classical off-Broadway repertory company
SEEKING: Production Stage Management Intern for its upcoming production of The Subject Was Roses.
-Oversee the set up and break down of rehearsal space and assist stage manager in rehearsal duties such as line notes, prompting, correspondence and paperwork, props tracking, recording blocking, and running lines.
-Provide support for the maintenance of rehearsal and performance space (New York City Center Stage II) to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for actors and patrons including safety checks, cordial interaction with patrons and artists’ guests; technical and production errands.
-Provide technical and production assistance to Stage Manager, designers and Production Manager where needed including attending production meetings, copying technical notes, and providing assistance during technical rehearsals.
-Coordinate tech maintenance of show with Stage Manager and Production Manager.
-Organizing and executing desk crew responsibilities during performances including sweeping and mopping stage, channel and sound check, performance prep, running crew and/or board op during show, and working with Wardrobe Apprentice when needed.
It is the goal of the program to provide a solid foundation of technical, production and stage management knowledge and skills from which our interns can build to achieve their professional goals.
WHEN: 3/1/2010 to 5/9/2010. Six days a week, 55 to 65 hours a week, more during tech week.
