WHO: The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey

SEEKING: Scenic carpenters. Duties include work in the scenic shop and theatre under the direction of the TD and ATD to fabricate, install, maintain and remove scenery using various materials, tools and techniques. Additional technical duties may be assigned as needed.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have skills in carpentry, welding, and rigging. Must be able to read working/construction drawings. Additional skills sought but not required in the following areas: electrics, painting, sewing, fluid mechanics, pneumatic systems. Ideal candidate must be: self motivated, safety conscious, team player, capable of lifting (75) pounds, can climb ladders, valid drivers license, comfortable working at heights exceeding 25’, and good sense of humor.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidate has a BFA, BA or Associates degree in technical theatre and at least 2 years professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Please submit resume and 3 references. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!
