Director of Group Sales – Davenport Theatrical
BroadwaySpace.com Group Sales/Best of Off-Broadway (a division of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises) is looking for a well-organized, personable Director of Group Sales. This is a self-starter position for someone with a background in group sales, as well as a knowledge and interest in Broadway ticketing/ Tour & Travel Industry.
Duties range from:
-Developing Group Sales strategy for all DTE-produced shows including upcoming productions of Godspell, A Few Good Men, Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating & Marriage, and more.
-Client maintenance- establishing, developing, & maintaining excellent customer service relationships with tour operators, schools, and social groups who purchase Broadway & Off-Broadway tickets. Creating and delivering supporting materials and frequent updates to clients.
-Outreach- responsible for initiating and completing direct mailings & telemarketing.
-Seeing all orders through from request to payment to collection of commission.
-Day to day planning and running of largest NYC Broadway Meetup group of over 1700 members.
Ideal candidates will have previous ticket-selling experience and be comfortable and confident interacting with patrons/clients in-person and on the phone. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of customer relations database software (Salesforce) is a plus. Knowledge of the Star System Groups Module is also preferable.
Reports directly to Ken Davenport, President of Davenport Theatrical Enterprises, Author of TheProducersPerspective.com.
Start date: Mid to late August, 2010
Full time: Hours of 10-6PM with some nights and weekends.
Salary commensurate with experience.
