WHO: Second Stage Theatre – "Wings"

ABOUT: Concerns the journey of Emily Stilson, a 1920's wing-walker who suffers a severe stroke. In struggling to regain what she has lost, Emily discovers that even when her physical self fails her, her daredevil spirit proves unflappable.

SEEKING:
Emily Stilson: Mid-late 70s. Retired aviatrix who has suffered a stroke and is struggling to regain her memory and language abilities. Fights to draw a line between the real world and the one inside her head. Maintains a courageous spirit despite all odds, and through the rehabilitation process she finally finds the freedom within to let go.

Amy: 30s-50s. Emily’s speech therapist. Warm and caring; patient as the day is long. Truly supports her patients on their road to recovery.

Billy: 30s. Rapidly improving stroke victim who was once a cook. Sweet, inquisitive, straightforward. Of all of the patients, he is the furthest on the road to full rehabilitation.

Mr. Brownstein: 60s-70s. Elderly stroke victim in a wheelchair. Severely disabled by lack of motor skills and speech.

Mrs. Timmins: 60s-70s. Elderly stroke victim in a wheelchair. Of all of the patients, she is the least coherent.

Male Actor and Female Actor: Each plays various doctors and nurses, 30s-50s. 

WHEN: 1st reh: 9/7/10. Runs 10/5-11/28. May extend to 12/12.

PAY: $730/week minimum.
