SEEKING: Director of Marketing

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Marketing is responsible for articulating and monitoring the organization’s brands, and plays a leadership role in developing short- and long-term strategies for promoting the brands, raising the institution’s profile, developing new audiences and maximizing ticket sales. The Director of Marketing oversees all marketing and communications for the organization, including but not limited to advertising, public relations, sales promotions, printed materials, online, email and website initiatives, corporate and media sponsorships, market research, community involvement and database management. The Director of Marketing supervises four full-time staff members, as well as interns and consultants in publicity, sponsorships and other areas as needed.

REQUIREMENTS: Required qualifications include extensive and successful experience as a marketer in the arts; staff and budget management experience; first-hand knowledge of the various marketing and sales tools and methods described above; superior writing skills. Beyond mastery of the mechanics of marketing, the successful candidate will bring imagination, a strategic approach and an entrepreneurial spirit to the challenge of developing and nurturing new audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
