SEEKING: Assistant Professor of Theatre
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ideal candidate will share direction of 2-3 annual Mainstage musicals, annual New York senior showcase, and spring gala among other possible assignments including non-musicals. The standard faculty load is 4/3 with release time for directing. Classes include: Musical Theatre Repertoire, Musical Theatre History, Audition Technique, Musical Theatre Scene Study, song interpretation, and potentially directing for musical Theatre.
REQUIREMENTS: M.F.A., earned doctorate, or other appropriate equivalent professional experience as an actor and/or director. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.Candidates should have a strong professional resume and solid contacts within the professional Theatre industry. The successful candidate should be comfortable and knowledgeable in working in multiple styles and periods of musical Theatre. In addition to having demonstrated the highest standards of professional activity, the preferred candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to teaching the next generation of theatre artists, and be able to interact smoothly with colleagues and students in dance, Theatre and acting disciplines.
