SEEKING: Actors for a staged reading which surrounds a play set during 1946 in North Carolina and involves an interracial relationship that tore a town apart. Southern dialect required for all characters at reading.

Female Lead June Mitchell (Caucasion)A woman ahead of her time. Defiante,outspoken. Enters into a relationship with Emerie Jones an African American. Age range late twenties to early thirties.

Female Lead Gladys mae – (African American) Mother of Jerome, the son Emerie Jones had before he met June Mitchell. Aggressive, determined. Age range late twenties to early thirties

Male Lead (Emerie Jones)African American Self absorbed. Unable to accept responsibility. War Hero.Age range late twenties to mid thirties.

Male Lead Support (African American)(Slim) Tall, Mature and easy going this character attempts to hold together a family that is broken and about to explode. Born and raised in the country woods of North

Carolina. Age range late forties to early fifties.
Supporting male – Mr. Mitchell (Caucasian) A controlling personality who cannot hide his bitterness. Age range late forties to early fifties.

Male Lead Support African American Clarence- Looked for any avenue to win the heart of a woman whose only goal was to use him for her own desires. Must have a very strong stage presence for drama.
