ASSOCIATE GENERAL MANAGER:
The New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) seeks an Associate General Manager for its 2011 Festival, running September 26-October 16, 2011. Hailed as the “Sundance of musical theatre,” NYMF is the largest musical theater event in America, supporting the next generation of musical theatre artists and launching the next generation of musical theater works.
The Associate General Manager’s primary responsibilities include creating and managing contracts for creative teams and staff, venues, productions and insurance. The Associate GM will serve as a critical point person for all participants and staff, so the position demands strong communication and organizational skills, as well as ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Associate GM will assist the GM with hiring, training and supervision of Front of House staff and will help to reconcile daily cash ticket sales, concessions and box office settlements for multiple shows during the Festival.
Knowledge of ticketing software (OvationTix) and familiarity with standard office computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Quickbooks) is important. Successful candidates will be self-starters able to work collaboratively and to maintain a sense of humor. Perseverance in creating systems and improving upon procedures is a must.
This position is seasonal, but there is a great opportunity for growth as the Festival grows and expands its staff.
