Equity Principal Auditions- The Toxic Avenger

WHO: The Toxic Avenger

SEEKING: “White Dude”: Multi-character track. Track age: 20s-30s. Actor must have a great rock and roll voice and be capable of playing many crazy comic parts such as Bozo, Thug, News Reporter, Folk Singer, Edna Ferbert, Judy, Sal The Cop and many others. Quirky, funny, offbeat, outrageous and also sharp and quick, the actor in this track, along with his sidekick, “Black Dude”, will portray 27 different characters. Performer must be a good mover, and a good fighter, too.
Melvin Ferd The Third / The Toxic Avenger: Melvin: 20s. Tall, skinny and geeky. Not much to look at, and is the choice victim of Tromaville bullies. But locked deep inside is a raging fire, burning to save the world from toxic waste and global warming. The bullies finally have their way, and dip Melvin in a vat of Toxic Goo, only to give birth to The Toxic Avenger (played by the same actor), a seven-foot-tall green mutant with bulging muscles and an eyeball hanging off his cheek. Excellent rock and roll vocal range.
“Black Dude”: Multi-character track. Track age: 20s-30s. Actor in this track must have a great rock and roll voice and be capable of playing myriad crazy comic parts such as Sluggo, Professor Ken, Shinequa, Little Old Lady, Fred The Local Guy, Large Chief of Police, Unconcerned Citizen and many others. Between them, “Black Dude” and “White Dude” (see above) portray 27 different characters. Actor needs to be a good mover and a good fighter, too.
Sarah: 20s. A beacon of shining inner truth and outer beauty. Blinded by a freak cell-phone accident, she sees only the good in everyone and everything around her. Although seemingly pure and naïve, she is no stranger to sex. Falls madly in love with The Toxic Avenger, fantasizing that he is her Big French Boyfriend. Actress must be a brilliant comedienne. Should have a gorgeous soprano voice with rock and roll, too.
Mayor Babs BelGoody / Ma Ferd: Dual-role track. Track’s age can be anywhere from late 30s-50s. Mayor: The force of all things dark and evil thriving, thriving in Tromaville. Uses her sexuality for political gain. Ma: Melvin’s low-class grunt of a mom. Actress must have undeniable comic chops and a great, big full vocal range.
