SEEKING: Communications and Education interns

RESPONSIBILITIES: Communications and Conferences Intern- Intern will assist the three-person Communications and Conferences team with strategic communications and conference programming. Intern will assist with all planning, correspondence, registrant materials and other logistics for TCG’s annual Fall Forum, National Conference, as well as other TCG programming, including in-person and virtual meetings. Intern will be responsible for writing materials, including press releases, pitches, backgrounders, etc. Intern will develop story ideas/angles, create targeted media lists, research and identify speaking opportunities for TCG leadership and monitor media coverage on the organization and of TCG constituents (i.e. members, grant recipients, writers). Intern will assist with the construction of TCG’s 50th Anniversary digital interactive timeline and help manage and promote the I AM THEATRE video campaign. The internship is best suited for someone who wants to gain an understanding of the diverse and vast national theatre field.      Advocacy/Education and Management Programs Intern- Intern will provide administrative support for both the advocacy/education and management departments. Working as part of a two department team, the intern’s responsibilities include compiling topical research, coordinating professional development programs, editing online publications and attending staff and project meetings, as necessary. The intern will also work with staff to analyze and craft advocacy messaging on various legislative issues.

REQUIREMENTS: The internship is best suited for someone who wants to gain an understanding of the diverse and vast national theatre field. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, able to work in close collaboration and think quickly on his or her feet. Candidates should be fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel – and have excellent communication, writing and editing skills. The candidate should also be a pragmatic, curious problem solver, who has knowledge of (and interest in) theatre.
