New York City Center’s mission is to be New York City’s leading home for the performing arts and make the arts accessible to the broadest possible audience. New York City Center is seeking an intern to assist in the daily operations of its Development Department. The intern will participate in all fundraising functions with a special emphasis on individual giving. City Center development interns help produce renewal and gift acknowledgment letters; answer the Membership hotline; assist in booking reservations and Open Dress Rehearsals; participate in the operation of cultivation events and patrons lounge activities; research individual and institutional prospects; attend department and staff meetings; and assist with clerical tasks and other duties as needed.
BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:
Candidate must have computer proficiency, very strong writing, communication, and organizational skills, and a pleasant and professional telephone manner. Interest and experience in arts administration a definite advantage. Knowledge of Tessitura a plus, but not required.
