In The Mood is seeking a Sound Engineer for national and international touring big band show (19th year) performing in major performing arts centers, universities and local theaters. There will be Fall 2012 tour commencing approximately mid-September and a Winter/Spring 2013 tour commencing end of January 2013. Person selected must be available for both tours.
Interested parties must:
-have touring experience
-be familiar with Digidesign/Avid console
-be familiar with Shure and Sennheiser wireless mics and IEMS
-be comfortable mixing monitors from front of house
-have knowledge of Protools
-be able to troubleshoot audio problems during a fast paced show
-be able to interface touring sound board with house PA/board
-be comfortable working with local sound and production crew
-have basic audio repair skills
-have computer skills including word, excel, and adobe acrobat
-handle sound for 13 musicians + 6 singers/dancers in varied situations and venues
-assist driving a 26′ box truck with lift gate (no CDL required)
-have or obtain a DOT medical certificate
-work hand-in-hand with production manager to facilitate all aspects of load in/out
and setting stage with local crews
This is NOT a rock ‘n roll show – IN THE MOOD is a musical revue recreating the sounds and styles of a 1940s big band playing in venues from 300 to 4,500 seats. The Sound Engineer must be able to adapt and be flexible in all situations.
Compensation based upon experience but will include all travel, hotels and most meals.
