Fun on a Friday: Musical Theater Biaaaaaaatch.
Quick – what do Jellicle Songs, Dick Van Dyke, and the Shubert Organization have in common?
They are all featured lyrics in the hip-hop t-t-t-tribute to Musical Theater by up-and-koomers Kooman and Dimond as performed at this year’s NYMF. The vid of the perf (I love bloggin’ with abrevs) just appeared on the web two days ago, and I expect it to make the rounds pretty quickly.
And the man laying down the word-to-your-musical-theater-mother is one of my favs . . . none other than former Idiot and Altar Boy, Andrew Call.
The sound isn’t Tony quality for sure, so it may take you a couple listens to get your groove on with what Andrew is spittin’, but there’s some fun funny stuff in there, so enjoy it . . . and enjoy your summer Friday. (Only 3 left!)

You should respond to some of the comments. It’s a one way street with you. Are these comments just trashed or do you read them. Are you really listening. Not that many. Talk back. Over….

Here is a better version of the song (and I only say better because of the sound, nothing else). This version features Anderson Davis (Lieutenant Joseph Cable in the 2nd National Tour of Lincoln Center’s South Pacific), who has worked with Michael and Chris since their Carnegie Mellon days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxsOMXmc560&feature=player_detailpage
