The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to The Last Five Years!

Ten years later, one of the shortest running Off-Broadway musicals, which has had one of the largest impacts on musical theater, is back Off-Broadway . . . and it’s this Sunday’s Giveaway!

That’s right my readers, one of you is going to see Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years at Second Stage!  (A bit of trivia – I was offered a chance to invest in the original production – something that I passed on back in the day, which was the right move considering its undeserved shorter-than-should-have-been run.  But boy do I wish I invested in the album!)

And when I say JRB’s The Last Five Years, I really mean it, since it is pretty well known that the piece is semi-autobiographical.

But this production is even more JRB than usual, because it’s actually directed by the Maestro himself.

I want to go.  Don’t you?

An artist directing their own work always adds a unique take on the material, don’t you think?  Arthur Laurents and Gypsy.  James Lapine and Sunday in the Park with George.  And more.  I’ve done it a few times too, including this show.

Name an Author, Composer, Lyricist, Designer, or other artist that you’d like to see direct their own work and name the show in the comments below and you could be entered to win a couple of tickets to see The Last Five Years.

No album investment included.

Enter away!
