POSITION TITLE: Marketing & Audience Development Associate

DESCRIPTION: Theatre for a New Audience, an award-winning Off-Broadway classical theatre company, seeks a Marketing and Audience Development Associate to work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications. TFANA will open its own 299-seat flexible and versatile performance space in the fall of 2013 in the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District and this position will be a key part of that transition.

Responsibilities include working to fulfill all marketing and audience development initiatives; assisting with all elements of marketing activity including, but not limited to direct mail, print distribution, digital communications, and promotions; creating weekly email blasts; managing the advertising process, including placing reservations, submitting paperwork, and insertion orders. This position will also maintain the marketing department calendars, organize the archives, and track all budget items, as well as run daily sales reports. Other duties include developing and sustaining positive relationships with community groups and local businesses, handling social media, and website management.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree, 1-3 years of experience in marketing and demonstrate a knowledge and passion for theatre, especially Shakespeare and the classics. He/she will have superior organizational, communication, and writing skills, thrive in a busy environment, and possess a friendly disposition and sense of humor. Computer proficiency and aptitude for social media and new technologies is a must. Familiarity with either ticketing software, CMS, or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Prior advertising or audience development experience highly desirable. The salary range for this position is in the low to mid $30K, D.O.E.
