POSITION: Development Assistant

DESCRIPTION: The Development Assistant plays an important role by managing gift processing and acknowledgments, assisting in the creation of lists for the annual fund mailings and providing administrative support to the Development Office. He/she will also participate in other fundraising activities including donor and public relations, grant writing & processing, direct mail appeals, and special events.

Duties include but are not limited to: coordinating mailing of spring, summer and year-end appeal letters; processing donations and preparing acknowledgement letters and other correspondence; maintaining foundation, corporation and individual donor files and reports; creating monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed, updating database records, handling all administrative details associated with Development Committee meetings (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, agendas, minutes, etc.), assembling media kits for events and meetings and other grants support.

BA with at least three years of professional development or volunteer coordinator experience preferred. Candidate should be very detail orientated and proficient in Microsoft Office.
