POSITION: Executive Director

DESCRIPTION: Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC), Astoria’s premiere theatre organization, now in its 13th year, is seeking a new Executive Director. APAC is a professional theater company that complements award-winning theatrical productions with community programs for children and senior citizens. APAC is also engaged in the development of new works of theatre. APAC is an ambitious and growing company with a record of artistic achievement, organizational balance, and strong relationships within its community. Its annual budget is $237K.

The ED establishes goals and develops policies, procedures, programs, and budgets that fulfill the mission of the APAC. With the Board of Directors, the ED develops and implements long-term strategic and operating plans; monitors progress against the plan; and ensures that APAC achieves its artistic, financial, and operating goals.

The right candidate will be invested in enriching Astoria, Queens – a culturally dynamic, diverse neighborhood. In addition to strong communication skills, s/he will have experience in nonprofit management (experience in the performing arts is preferred) and fundraising. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.

Full time position. Benefits include health insurance.
