POSITION: Assistant Audio Supervisor

DESCRIPTION: The Public Theater seeks dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Audio Supervisor. Under the direction of the Audio Supervisor and within broad theater policy, the Assistant Audio Supervisor is responsible for executing the duties and responsibilities of the sound department. Responsibilities include coordinating with the designer to hang, focus and troubleshoot audio plots; supervision of crews to hang and focus sound equipment; promoting safe and conscientious workmanship and working conditions; helping to recruit and train freelance labor; obtaining quotes for and ordering equipment and supplies; counting, cleaning, and repairing equipment.

Requirements: 3-5 years of audio experience, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in Word and Excel, working knowledge of Vectorworks a plus. Basic theater rigging. Knowledge of audio equipment and signal flow. Supervisory skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to operate well under pressure in a hectic, fast-paced environment and a sense of humor are a necessity.
