The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to Mamma Mia on Broadway!

Admit it. When you read the show title in this Sunday’s Giveaway headline you started singing the song, didn’t you?

“Here I go again, my, my . . . how can I resist you!”

Mamma Mia! has been running for over a decade on Broadway and thanks to the recent downsizing to the Broadhurst Theatre, looks like it could run for at least a half a decade more. What a story! The first jukebox musical takes London by storm, takes Broadway by storm, takes the world by storm . . . and even takes Meryl Streep and Hollywood by storm! (And for all you newbie Producers out there that need a little inspiration, this show was Producer Judy Craymer’s very first and still only Broadway producing credit – I mean why produce any others, right?)

Mamma Mia! has so many things going for it that contribute to its status as a phenomenon: the music, the wedding storyline, the strong central female characters (remember who buys the tickets out there?) . . . and yes, the title.

But I’m sure Mamma Mia! wasn’t the only title Judy and co. thought of back in the day. Let’s you and I go back in time and imagine we were at the “title meeting” for Mamma Mia!. Come up with another idea for a name for the show . . . use a song, don’t use a song, call it a character, I don’t care . . . but come up with something, put it in a comment, and you could be singing along soon enough at the Broadhurst Theatre with two free tickets!

Titles ready? Go!
