The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to Black Stars of the Great White Way at Carnegie Hall!
And just who are the stars?
How about the current Phantom, Norm Lewis? And what about everyone’s favorite intern and After Midnight star, Dule Hill? Or what about multiple Tony Nominee Andre de Shields?
And how about thirty other stars from the African American community singing tunes from Eubie Blake, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway and more.
Oh man, just typing those performances and those composers makes me wanna go!
Don’t you?
Well here’s how you can . . . for free-zies.
The people in this concert read like an Olympic Dream Team. The performers so awesome (and so busy), that getting them on stage together at the same time is quite a producing feat.
Put together your dream team of three Broadway performers that you’d like to see in a one night only concert. And it doesn’t matter if they are living or dead.
For example: Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli and Hugh Jackman (now that’s a sandwich).
Get it?
Design the dream team of three that you’d love to produce. Comment it below. And you could win!
Good luck!

I think it would be amazing if Sutton Foster, Patti Lupone, and Bernadette Peters all worked together to do one amazing concert of amazing works.
Ethel Merman, Barbara Streisand and Patti LuPone!
that should be Barbra
The producer in me, will bill the triple threat of Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, and Barbara Streisand; utilizing the element of time travel so that each would be at the height of their respective careers, singing and dancing. Standing room only! :)…
AL JOLSON
EDDIE CANTOR
SOPHIE TUCKER
I DOUBT AL JOLSON WOULD SHARE THE STAGE WITH ANYONE, MUCH LESS EDDIE CANTOR AND/OR SOPHIE TUCKER.
I’LL TELL HIM IT IS A BENEFIT…. AND THAT HE FOLLOWS THEM BOTH AND CLOSES THE SHOW… AND….THAT HE CAN PERFORM FOR AS LONG AS HE LIKES….
I would absolutely LOVE to see the trio of Billy Porter, Patina Miller, and Lillias White. Three Tony Award winners. Three strong, black performers who are still fully at the apex of their careers and have legions of fans. Three INCREDIBLE voices and the songs and arrangements would be just as diverse and eclectic as their talents. I can’t imagine anyone who WOULDN’T wanna see the 3 of them onstage live! And they all happen to be close friends too, so that wouldn’t hurt… 😉

Me + Norm Lewis + Me! This sandwich is total fantasy, Ken! When I saw Norm play Porgy in “Porgy and Bess” I sho nuf was hungry for a Porgy sandwich! From my seat I was screaming, “Forget about Bess! I loves you, Porgy! I wants you!” What a man! What a talent! I could eat him up! (Don’t tell my husband though!)

Three great belters. Living. Top voices and talents. Non-stop fireworks. Imagine the harmonies, the trio singing, say, “Rain on My Parade”, the imaginative arrangements. Imagine the song selections. Old Broadway, New Broadway, Pop. Thanks to Ken for asking such fun questions.
Audra McDonald (of course)

off the subject, but saw Saturday Night Fever in Bryant Park yesterday. Anyone remember when Ethel sang disco?!!!
Patti LuPone + Audra McDonald + Kristin Chenoweth = Diva Heaven
All of the above are excellent solo performers (which is a different skill from being good in a full show), and they also have different enough personalities that I think they would bring out some interesting sides of each other.
Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, Idina Menzel.
Neil Patrick Harris
Audra McDonald
Ethel Merman
So dramatic it’s funny!
Billie Holiday…Lena Horne…Tina Turner
Should a lady need a matinee or evening off, Leslie Uggams sashays in.
Jason Robert Brown, Alan Menken, and Steven Sondheim. The twist? They’re only allowed to sing each others songs.
Audra McDonald, Patti Labelle, Adrienne Lenox – Power Voices
Mandy Patankin
Party Lupone
Audra McDonald
They do a sing off !!
