Who won the chance to sit with me during tech of Spring Awakening?

Ok, somebody, get ready to grab a slice, a Coke . . . and to sit and watch the magic happen.

And then also to wait about twenty minutes and watch nothing happen while someone fixes a prop or lights a 2×2 area.

And then don’t worry, the magic will happen again.  🙂

We’re in the first few days of tech over at the Brooks and things are going swimmingly.  Of course, we’ve had the usual, “Hey this doesn’t fit,” and “Where is the so-and-so?  Did that make it on the truck?”

But we’re putting together an event unlike anything Broadway has seen for y’all.  (You know when you get choked up in tech, you’re on to something.)

And one of you is going to get to step into our kitchen and see how we cook it up.

We had a bajillion entries for this giveaway, which says I’m going to do this more often, and it also says that Broadway should do this kind of thing more often.

But we’re not talking about the future.  We’re talking about now.  We’re talking about this winner.  This one winner.

And before I announce that winner, let me just say that it wasn’t easy picking one.  Your statements were all awesome.  And I wish I could just bring the whole gaggle of you over.  But I can’t.

But I can pick TWO of you!!!

That’s right, two winners to sit side by side and watch our tech.

Even picking two was hard, so here’s what we did.  I took all the folks that qualfied and put ’em in a proverbial hat, and picked two winners.

And those lucky duckies are . . .

Ready . . .

Drumroll, drumroll, drrrrrrrrumroll . . .

Isaac Grivett and Allison DeLuca!

Congrats, Isaac and Allison.  Click here to email me and set up your tech session with me and associate producer scholarship winner Alice Rix.  Oh, and pizza.  You’re in for a treat.  And the show is awesome too.

Thanks for all your passionate entries everyone. I hope to see you all at the show!

  • Daniel Stewart was in a reading of my musical, Puritanical, for the Malibu Playhouse’s spring reading season while rehearsing for the LA Spring Awakening. He’s a talented actor/singer who was up to mastering piano for the role. Please give him my best Break a Leg. So happy he is reprising the role on Broadway!
