What Goldilocks and Writers have in Common.

Ahh, stage directions.

Like Goldilocks looking for just the right temperature of porridge, Authors are always asking me how many stage directions should be included in their drafts.

Too many and you risk pi$$ing off a potential director.

Too few and you might end up with a show that looks like nothing like the show you saw in your head.

A PLONY (Playwright Living Outside of NY) blogger recently got in touch with me and asked me for a quote on the topic for an article he was writing.

I was going to respond but then I realized there was someone who reads more scripts than I do that was even more qualified to give him a quote.

Enter my Director of Creative Development, Eric Webb, who reads and evaluates our submissions, attends readings, and gives killer script coverage.

Read Eric’s thoughts on the saga of stage directions on this blog.

And happy writing this weekend!

Best,

Ken
