Broadway Grosses w/e 3/1/2020: Falling Slowly

Broadway slid 11% last week due in large part to the Kid’s Night on Broadway promo. Attendance was down 3% despite two new musicals starting previews.

At first glance, the numbers this week look eye popping, and given everything going on in the news affecting domestic and international travel and tourism, but the year over year comparison (KNOB played the same week in 2019) is only down 4% which can mostly be attributed to three fewer shows playing.

Broadway Grosses w/e 2/23/2020: To Kill a Gross

Grosses leveled off last week coming out of the holiday weekend. Overall, the street dropped 6% coming in at $29M, though attendance was flat week-over-week. Most of the drop can be attributed to American Utopia being off the boards this week.

SIX continues its strong start barely breaking $1M its first full week of performances. With an average ticket price of $121.73, it’s in good company along with To Kill a Mocking Bird and The Book of Mormon.
