15 men to play ages 20 to 50 all ethnic backgrounds
4 women to play ages 20 to 35 all ethnic backgrounds
Any actor who plays guitar, Spanish guitar or drums is also encouraged to present these talents.

WHEN: 2/7/2010 – 2/20/2010. Auditions will be held on Sat., Jan. 9th from 3pm to 4:30pm and Sun., Jan. 10th from 3pm to 5pm.
REQUIREMENTS: Industry Staged Reading of a new epic musical, Immortal Journey about the life and travels of Ponce de Leon in search of the Fountain of Youth. Must have strong voices, proficiency at reading music and be able to learn quickly. Seeking all ethnic backgrounds.

PREPARE: 16 bars of a musical theatre ballad that shows range. Please bring a secondary piece if needed. An accompanist will be provided.

All auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at Theatre Row (42nd Street). Performers will be expected to learn all music before rehearsals begin and must be available for all rehearsal times listed below.

BENEFITS: $50 travel stipend and possibility of continuing with the show.

Rehearsal: Feb. 7th through 18th from 6:30pm to 10pm.
Performances: Feb. 19th at 3pm and 7:30pm and Feb. 20th at 7:30pm

Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies – Open Auditions

WHO: Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies – Open Auditions. Produced by Inside Broadway. Multi-cultural local-touring production, in a special 45-minute version performed in NYC public elementary, middle and high schools.

SEEKS:  TYA $451/week minimum. R/T transportation to schools provided.

Three Singer/Dancers (M/F): Energetic, multi-cultural cast. Performers must be able to play a range of characters (early 20s – early 30s). Must be strong singers who dance at soloist level (Theatre, Jazz and Tap background needed). Must be able to give 100% at a 9 AM performance. Must be comfortable singing in various styles, and have facility communicating with young audiences. All roles will be designated Actor/ASM positions. There is a Q&A session with the students after each performance.

Notes/What to bring: The producer will run all aspects of this call. Equity audition procedures will NOT be in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided.

Please prepare 16 bars of a song, preferably in the style of the show. Songs from the show are welcome. Have a second song ready, if asked. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

PRODUCTION RUNS: 1st rehearsal: March 1, 2010. Runs March 15 – mid May; morning performances. Two-week layoff: March 29 – April 12.
