SEEKING: AEA Company New York Stage and Film seeks Sound Supervisor for 2012 Powerhouse Season of new plays at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Season includes 2-3 fully-produced mainstage productions, 2-3 musical workshops, 2-3 play workshops, and 8-10 readings. Sound Supervisor oversees all aspects of Sound Department, including interfacing with mainstage sound designers and other artists, sound package purchase, loading in system, changing over, maintaining equipment, and managing assistant and interns. May include some design opportunities for workshops.

REQUIREMENTS: Previous Sound Supervisor experience required. 

WHEN: 6/10/2012 – 8/5/2012

PAY: Weekly salary and free on campus housing provided June through early August.

Scenic Designer – Planet Connections Theater Festival

WHO: Planet Connections Theater Festival

SEEKING: Scenic Designer for The Empress of Sex by Duncan Phlaster. Direction by Glory Kadigan. Choreography by Joe Barros.

SUMMARY: In Ancient Greece, a woman spurned in love, finds a deserted island and sets herself up as the Empress Salacia, decreeing that there shall be no love allowed in her domain, only sex. She gathers some sybaritic acolytes and all is frolicsome mindless fun until Salacia's ex-lover Agis comes to the island in disguise, to attempt to win her back.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Production to be performed at the Upstairs 45 Bleecker Street Theater in June as part of The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity – www.planetconnections.org

REQUIREMENTS: Seeking a designer who can construct, find and design props/sets. Although the venue is gorgeous, we are still an indie theater festival production.

WHEN: Auditions in late March. Rehearsals in April/May.

PAY: Small stipend. Free tickets to all 50 Planet Connections Theater Productions running in June. Fun times and lots of great networking opportunities!

Set and Lighting Designer – Labrats Theater Company

WHO: Labrats Theater Company

SEEKING: LabRats Theater Company is looking for a set and lighting designer for two upcoming plays being performed in repertory. Ha Ha by Lawrence Dial is a play about graffiti artists and has various design needs and So, by Suzanne Heathcoate is a more minimalist play in terms of design. Both plays focus on art and artist. The plays are being performed at Theater 54 at Shetler Studios from March 12th thru April 1st. Tech and load in for the first play is March 12 and tech and load in for the second play is March 18th.

RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for one lighting and set designer for both plays. We are a young company devoted to collaboration and want designers who want to work within that environment and can also creatively problem solve within a tight budget. The plays are being directed by Scott Illingworth and Tyne Rafaeli.

REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for set designers ideally who have building skills, but it is not a requirement.

REQUIREMENTS: AutoCAD Proficiency
