YouTube is a Democratic Star Maker.  If the people respond to what you put out there, good things will happen.  

Just ask Justin Bieber.  

YouTube made stars out of the Israeli-born group the Voca People, and now they've got a show Off-Broadway.

And we've got tickets.

If you don't know the Voca People, then watch the video below that has generated . . . oh . . . almost 9 million views.  

And if you want to see them in person, enter a comment below telling everyone what your favorite YouTube is and I'll pick a random winner.  That's right, tell me you love Double Rainbow Guy, or EHarmony Cat Lady or my new favorite. . . Greyson Chance singing Papparazzi and you'll be entered to win 2 tickets to Voca People.

      I’ve been watching “The Battery’s Down” since it premiered, and have turned many others onto it. I like that it continues the outrageous musical storyline from month to month, and miss it when it takes a sabbatical.. So many Broadway stars have made cameos, often times spoofing their own images. And it’s also a great forum for both established and up-and-coming composers.

      My favorite ever youtube video is of my friend’s proposal video. He wrote and produced a twenty minute musical in order to propose to his girlfriend. Absolutely amazing. Oh, and she said yes. Please check them out.

      This is a toughie, but I would have to say that the video that has stood the test of time so far for me is Precious Taft’s performance on the 1980s cable access program “Stairway To Stardom”

      My favorite You Tube Video is ELVIS live at Madison Square Garden on June 10,1972.
      That was the only NY appearance that Elvis ever made and he was and still is the most dynamic in person live performer that I have ever seen!
      I only remember the exact date because my oldest son was born exactly one month before the concert. He is now 39 years old.
      The tickets to the Elvis show were $15.00 for the best seats in the house.

      I have to say I have truly enjoyed the dumb blond who didn’t know France was a country. And, I’d love to see the Voca People live. Thanks for the guidance your blog provides. Godspell was one of my all time favorites, saw it on Bway on the upper west side many, many years ago and look forward to seeing your production.

      The Bed Intruder Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHpluwP328A&feature=related) is a classic, but I particularly like the lesser-known Backing Up Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skejhu_NWrg)… never fails to make me laugh.
